Audrey was born on September 4, 1920 to James Wiley Sims and Alice Ann (Peters) Sims at Lost Prairie, where she grew up and attended school. She was united in marriage with Earl Webb. After he entered the Army, they lived in California during some of his service time. They then lived most of their life together at Conroe, where Audrey worked at Moore’s Variety Store. After Mr. Webb passed away in 1967, Audrey moved back to Groesbeck, where she worked many years as a clerk in various stores. Audrey was an active member of the Lost Prairie Baptist Church. She was a very loving Christian woman, who always had a smile on her face. She gave her love to her nieces and nephews, to whom she was known as “Aunt Sooney”; and they were also extremely fond of her. "Aunt Sooney" had such a unique laugh about her. When you heard her laugh, it would put a smile on your face. It was a "one-of-a-kind" laugh. She resided at Mexia LTC for the past twelve years, and was active there, especially enjoying playing Bingo. Her family remembers her as the most giving person. She never had much in her lifetime, but she always had a giving heart. She gave her time and assistance in whatever way she could to help people. She had a heart of gold. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earl; three sisters, Erna Sims, Era V Williams, and Delmereen Watson; and two brothers, Wilmer Sims, and J.E. Sam Sims. She is survived by seven nieces and their husbands, and seven nephews and their wives: Donna and Buddy Williford of Mexia, Donella and Ray Denton of The Woodlands, Joan and Derwood Marsh of Groesbeck, June and Eugene Shugart of Rockwall, Hilda and Jack Williams of Tyler, Yvonne Pierce of Groesbeck, and Ann and Larry Stefka of Cedar Park; and nephews, Leo and Rita Davis of Deer Park, Danny Watson of Groesbeck, Robert and Barbara Sims of Houston, Joe and Gail Williams of Groesbeck, Nealon Williams of Angleton, James Williams of Lake Jackson, and Buddy and Diane Williams of Clute. She is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
