Anthony Patrick “Tony” Provencal, Sr., of Groesbeck, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Providence Hospital in Waco, at age 69. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Brother LeRoy Elmore, retired minister from Corsicana, and Brother David McDaniel of the First Assembly of God of Groesbeck. His son-in-law, Donte Asberry, will also speak. Burial will follow in Cobb Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie McDaniel, Jonathan Beene, Ricky Norman, Brent Thorp, J.R. Norris, and Charles McDaniel. Anthony was born March 16, 1942, to Alphonse Isador Provencal and Marguerite Elizabeth (Bigelow) Provencal in Inkster, Michigan. He grew up and went to school in Michigan, and worked there, until moving to Groesbeck in 1977. Tony was united in marriage with Julie K. McDaniel on September 8, 1979, in Groesbeck. He worked for Dugan Trailer as a painter, and later worked for Lawrence Sims as a tractor driver for twenty years. He also worked in remodeling and construction, until he was disabled in 1999. Tony also worked raising a garden, and enjoyed fishing, and he enjoyed spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren. Tony was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Provencal was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Eva Ann Provencal and Rita Belle Flores; and two brothers, Paul Leondaif Provencal and Joseph Allen Provencal. He is survived by his wife, Julie Provencal of Groesbeck; daughter, Stacey Hylton -Cuatlacuatl of Plymouth, Indiana; daughter, Angela Louise Trotter and husband David of Llano, TX; daughter, Eva Christine Vincent and husband James of Groesbeck; daughter, Margaret Pearl Asberry and husband Donte of Groesbeck; son, Anthony Patrick Provencal, Jr. of Groesbeck; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Provencal of Groesbeck; twelve grandchildren, including Crystal Thorp, Brent Thorp, Heather Banks-Dugan, Candy Banks, Brandy Banks, and grandchildren living in Groesbeck are Hunter Vincent, Keylon Asberry, and Jevan Asberry; and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Marie Margaret Bawks, and two brothers, Carl Alphonse Provencal and wife Marlene, and John David Provencal, all of Michigan.
