Joyce (Rasco) Cole

Joyce Rasco Cole, affectionately known by all as Grandmother, passed away on September 20, 2011 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 90 ½ years old. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 23, 2011, at Cobb Cemetery, with Reverend Leslie Loftin officiating. Visitation with the family and viewing will be Friday from 1:00 to 1:30 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. She is survived by her daughter, Bari Sheppard and son-in-law, Jeff Sheppard, her granddaughter and husband, Erin and Alonso Cervantes, grandson and wife, Cole and Erin Sheppard, and granddaughter and husband, Shea and Mike Braunstein. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Tommy and Cami Dickenson and Andre and Eilis Cervantes; her brother Lamar Rasco and his family, her brother Solon and his family, and sister-in-law, JoAnn Rasco and her family as well as many nieces and nephews from her other siblings. She was born in Thornton, Texas on February 3, 1921 to Willie and Minnie Rasco. She graduated from Thornton High School and Draughn’s Business School. She married Baron Cole who predeceased her in 1978. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and gardening and was a member of the Terrell Garden Club for 15 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Terrell, Texas. She was an absolutely amazing person filled with such sweet spirit, quick wit, sense of humor and her ability to make just about anything.
