James Eddy "Buddy" Thomas

James Eddy “Buddy” Thomas passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011, at Little Elm, Texas, at age 89. There will a private burial in the Thornton Cemetery, near his parents and brother, at a later date. Buddy was born November 29, 1921 to Lenard B. and Suzy Helen Thomas at Thornton. He grew up in the Alice area and graduated from High School there. He lived in South America four years while working on the Panama Canal. He then attended the University of Texas two years and played football there. James worked in sales for construction supply companies in the Houston area, and then was successful in real estate sales for the last thirty years of his life. He moved to Little Elm to be near a daughter the last year and one-half. James was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger Allen Thomas at age 18; a brother, Joe Keith Thomas; and a son-in-law, Ed Richardson. He is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Jo Richardson of Little Elm, and Peggy Ann Thomas of Houston; granddaughter and caregiver, Amy Jade McKee of Carrollton; grandson, Matt Glenn McKee of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; granddaughter, Haley Marie McKee of Carrollton; and great grandson, Parker Glenn McKee of Carrollton.
