David Wayne Elmore, Jr., of Groesbeck, passed away at Providence Hospital on Friday, September 30, 2011, at age 30. Visitation will be Monday, October 3, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Groesbeck, with Reverend Tod Tanner officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Parker Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Wes Tunnell, David Harvey, Wesley Elmore, Buster Alfaro, Jacob Cook, Brett Hasten, Adam Fitte, and John Mark Curry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jordon Cook, Cody Adair, Jason Anderson, Juan Alfaro, and Butch Chapman. David was born July 14, 1981 to David Wayne Elmore, Sr. and Deidre Rae (Christa) Elmore at Silsbee, Texas. He lived most of his youth in Groesbeck and graduated from Groesbeck High School, Class of 2000. His career included working in the auto-body business, working with the family construction business, and working as a heavy equipment operator at Big Creek Construction. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Groeseck. David was united in marriage with Sunshine Alfaro on July 16, 2005 in Mexia. David enjoyed doing auto-body work and four-wheeling. He always loved being with his friends and family, and was especially looking forward to being an uncle to baby Blayne. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benny Elmore, Alene Latham, and Sandy Collins. He is survived by his parents, David and Dede Elmore of Groesbeck; wife, Sunshine Elmore; brother and sister-in-law, Daryl and Rachel Elmore of Groesbeck; grandparents, Wayne and Debra Christa of Novice; very special cousin, Sumer Elmore of Groesbeck; in-laws, Juan and Lucina Alfaro of Groesbeck; sister-in-law and nephew, Dulce and Alex Corral and nephew Marley; and brother-in-law, Juan Alfaro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made in David’s memory to the American Heart Association.
