Michael David Palmer, of Lake Limestone, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was 50. Visitation will be Sunday, October 16, 2011, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 17, 2011, at the Lake Limestone Baptist Church, with Revered Johnny Layton officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Parker Memorial Park at Groesbeck. Members of his Sunday School Class at Lake Limestone Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Michael was born September 20, 1961, to David McKinnon Palmer and Betty Jane (Wells) Palmer, in Brownwood. The family lived in various towns, so he attended school in Synder, Abilene-Wylie, and Pflugerville. As an adult, Michael worked at various types of employment, first at the State Fish Hatcheries in San Marcos, and later with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville, Amarillo, and Abilene. He worked in maintenance for the Pflugerville ISD, and later drove a truck for Werner Enterprises from coast to coast. He was self-employed for the last several years. Michael had lived the past five years at Lake Limestone, and was a member of the Lake Limestone Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a good gardener. Michael was preceded in death by three of his grandparents, and his uncle, James Palmer. He is survived by his parents, David and Betty Palmer of Lake Limestone; daughter Crystal Hail of Hutto, and her children, Tyler Palmer, Haven Hail, and Braxton Hail; daughter, Amber Green of Austin and her son, Anthony Gonzalez; and daughter, Magen Palmer of Austin and her son Nash Johnson and baby Abel Johnson due in a few months. He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Earl Hood and his wife Della of Cordova, Tennessee; aunts, Willa Mae Palmer of Lake Buchanan and Barbara Clark and husband Don of Supply, North Carolina; first cousins, Gary Palmer of Kingsville, Gena Berry of Austin, Todd Clark of Raleigh, NC, and Trina Smith of Charleston, SC; and numerous second cousins.
