Nina Ruth Ballenger

Nina Ruth (Andrews) Ballenger, of Texas City, TX, formerly of Groesbeck, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, with her sisters at her side. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home from 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Royce Smith and Reverend Tracy Sims presiding. Burial will follow in Faulkenberry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lester Blalock, Jeremy McMillan, Marcus Ray Hanna, Eddie Marshall, David Marshall, and Randy Loveless. Nina was born in Groesbeck to Noel and Lois (Davis) Andrews on October 30, 1925, and was a graduate of Groesbeck High School. She had resided in Texas City the last several years to be near her sisters. Nina Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Lee “Bob” Ballenger. She is survived by her sister, Lela Marshall Flessner and husband Allen of Texas City; sister, Peggy Noel Loveless of Friendswood; and brother, Jack Davis Andrews and wife Karen of Brady; three nephews, Noel Edward Marshall, David Wayne Marshall, and Randy Gene Loveless; two nieces, Vicki Lynn Loveless and Kristi Andrews; and numerous cousins, great nephews and great nieces.
