Coleman Condell Webb, of Groesbeck, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the Limestone Medical Center. He was 88. Visitation will be Sunday, January 15, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 16, 2012, at Faulkenberry Cemetery, with Reverend David Sheppard officiating. Condell was born September 17, 1923 to Samuel B. Webb and Eva Henderson Webb at Personville in Limestone County, TX. He grew up in the Personville community and attended school at Fair Oaks. After school he moved to Houston to work in the ship yards where he learned his lifetime career in welding. Condell joined the U. S. Army in September 1944 and was discharged in November 1946, after receiving many ribbons and medals including the Bronze Star for the Asiatic Pacific Theater and ribbons for the Phillipine Liberation, and two Purple Hearts due to his war injuries. After the Army, Condell joined the Boiler Makers Union and went to work for Chicago Bridge and Iron Company. He traveled the world during his welding career, until he retired in 1953. In the fifties, he built a motel, with a restaurant in Groesbeck. He married Dorothy Easterling in 1953, and they built a home on his ranch at Personville. He pursued ranching the next forty years. He moved into Groesbeck around ten years ago, but continued to enjoy going to the ranch to oversee everything. In 1996, Condell married Helyn Freeman Howe, and she continued as his friend and caregiver the rest of his life. Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wesley Lynn Oaks, Clifton Travis Webb, Alvis Cleo Webb, and sister, Theresadell Guest; and his first wife, Dorothy in 1993. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Joann Oaks of Spring; nieces and nephews, Margaret Ruth Webb of Groesbeck, David Wesley Oaks of Stafford, Brenda Sheppard and husband David of Tyler, Patricia Combs and husband Randall of Elgin, Michael Webb of Austin, and Gerald Webb and wife Sydney of Marshall; great niece, Leslie Browning and great-great nephew, Christopher Brock of Groesbeck; former wife and caregiver, Helyn Webb; and good friends/ caregivers, Donald Johnson, Charles Bradley, and Pete Wellensiek.
