Charles Donald “Charlie” McKenzie, II, of Jewett, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at age 55. Interment will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 17, 2012, at West Hillside Cemetery. Charles (also known as “Little Charlie”) was born December 2, 1956 to Charles D. McKenzie and Virginia Beth McKenzie at Dallas, where he grew up and graduated from High School. He lived most of his life in Dallas and East Texas, working as a heavy equipment operator on new construction sites. He moved to the rural Jewett area in 1998. Charlie was known to his family and friends as a wonderful man with a fantastic sense of humor. He enjoyed Blues, fast cars, and motorcycles. He was loved by all who knew him and considered to be a son to his wife’s family. Charlie is survived by his wife, Evelyn Crabtree of Jewett; daughter, Mandy Lynn and her husband Jarod of Gainesville; daughter Dawndi Nicole of Alabama; two grandsons and two granddaughters; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and Kenneth Webster of Jewett; step mother, Evelyn McKenzie of Gainesville; sister, Terri Threadgill of Gainesville; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many many friends.
