Jeff Davis Blair IV, 28, of Mexia, left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Visitation will be Monday, March 5, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Mexia (500 E. Carthage St.), with Rev. Tracy Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery with a private family service. Pallbearers are Jeff Price, Matt McReynolds, Bryan Wood, Clint McNutt, Gaelen Bellamy, and Ken York. Jeff was born on March 23, 1983 at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana, Tx. He was a 2001 Mexia High School graduate. He was employed by Geosearch Logging in Midland, Tx. Jeff had a loving and caring soul, and he went above and beyond for the ones he loved. He enjoyed spending time with his numerous family and friends. From an early age, Jeff had a love for music and playing the guitar. One of his greatest passions was playing and spending time with his niece, Hallie, who he loved very much. Jeff never failed to leave a smile on everyone’s face from his outgoing personality. Preceding him in death were a brother, Matthew Chase Crook; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Carlson; and step-father, Lee Roy Crook, Jr. Surviving Jeff are his parents, Carolyn Crook of Mexia; Jeff Blair III of Groesbeck; maternal grandfather, Jack Carlson of Personville; paternal grandparents, Morris and Marcia Beaver of Groesbeck; five sisters - Kelly Harrison and husband James of Mexia, Sara Chiglo and husband Jordan of Groesbeck; JoBeth Reed and husband Ryan of Conroe, Lauren Crook of Mexia, Brittany Jackson and husband Keith of Groesbeck; a brother, Collin Blair of Wortham; eight aunts and uncles - Elrose and Billy Miller of Mexia, Joanne Crook Bess of Arizona, Sherri and Sammy Lenoir of Groesbeck, Thomas and Cathy Bain of Glenrose, Bill and Linda Odom of Hewitt, Becky O’Neil of Laredo, Nona Hopkins of Midland, Duane Blair of San Angelo; along with many nieces and nephews.
