Kathryn (McMaster) Duncan passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Ballinger, age 95. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Kosse City Cemetery, with Reverend John Montgomery of the First United Methodist Church of Kosse officiating. Kathryn was born January 30, 1917 at Dallas, to Walter McMaster and Mary Ella (Browning) McMaster. She lived in Kosse as a teenager, where her father had a dairy farm. She and a brother delivered milk from the dairy to Kosse customers. Kathryn met Newton Carl Duncan in Kosse, and they were united in marriage. They lived most of their life in Texas City where he was employed. When he retired in the seventies, they moved back to Kosse, but eventually moved back to Texas City. She had moved in the past six months to Ballinger, to be near her son. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, and her oldest son, William C. “Bill” Duncan. She is survived by three sons, Charles E. Duncan and wife Janie of Washington State, David G. Duncan and wife Glenda of Doole, and James Darrell Duncan of Texas City; and eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
