Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 13, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, with Reverend John Free and Reverend Milton Woodall officiating. Burial will follow at the Kosse City Cemetery. Pallbearers are the Deacons of the First Baptist Church, Kosse. Dennis was born November 17, 1916 in Bicknell, Indiana. Dennis was a World War II veteran, serving four years and seven months in the U. S. Army in Japan. Dennis was united in marriage with Edith L. Foy (of Kosse) on June 26, 1943. They lived most of their life in LaMarque, while he was employed in Texas City with Union Carbide as a machinist for twenty-seven years. After his retirement, Dennis and Edith moved back to her hometown of Kosse. Dennis served as a Deacon in the First Baptist Church at LaMarque and also in the church at Kosse. While he had always enjoyed playing golf, he gave up his golf games to devote more of his time to his greater love of maintenance of the church building at Kosse. One memorable experience which Dennis truly enjoyed was a mission trip to Brazil. He also loved working with the Texas Baptist Men in building churches, and he and Edith made trips in Texas and to other states in this work. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Bertie Lou Leveron, two brothers, Forrest Deem and Roy Deem, three sisters, Jerry Pieper, Alma Kirk, and Leanna Ledford. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Edith Leveron of Kosse; daughter, Deborah Bailey of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis “Biff” and Mary Leveron III, of Lake Jackson; four grandchildren, Melanie McBroom and husband Mike of League City, Chris Leveron and wife Candace of Dickinson, Kevin Thompson, and Savannah Kelly; and four great grandchildren, Brandon, Blake, and Bailey Hobbs and Ashton Leveron; and nieces, Dixie Pieper, Rita Bonenberger, Nancy Poole, Patti Obozarny, and Bertie Lou Kirk.
