James Willis of Lake Limestone/Jewett passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Visitation will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 10 AM Tuesday morning, July 3, 2012 at Little Flock Baptist Church located at 20190 FM 1512 Jewett with Rev. Tad Trailor officiating. Burial will follow in Little Flock Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eugene Kubin, "Peanut" Corbin Copeland, Caleb Dobson, Thomas (T.C.) Clelland, Ricky Daniel Price, Louis Costello and Ricky Clayton Strange. Honorary bearers will be Robert Sherrill and Ricky Price. Mr. Willis is preceded in death by his father, John Alton Willis and grandparents, Ernest & Eula Rhodes. James married his wife, Cyenthia on November 2, 1990 in Corsicana and began their life together. To all that knew James, he was "The Great White Hunter". Deer hunting and boating were his passions. His work ethic and determination were some of his best traits. Having built his home in its entirety alone to having his own taxidermy shop to constructing "the perfect deer rifle" were a few of his most noted accomplishments. After battling cancer for three and a half years; he never gave up hope. James simply was not a quiter. James is survived by his loving wife Cyenthia Willis of Jewett; mother, Dorris L. Willis of Jewett; children, James Frank Willis of Dallas, Christopher Michael Dobson of Midlothian, Angela Dobson Strange of Richland and Dustin Matthew Brunson of Richland; grandchildren, Ricky Clayton Strange of Palmer, Austin Eugene Strange, Caleb Joshua, Cody Daniel and Jonathan Matthew Dobson of Midlothian and Hope Brunson of Plano.
