Gloria Louise (Bryant) Jenkins, of Windsor Healthcare Residence, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2012, while a patient in Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. She was 81. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Pavilion in Faulkenberry Cemetery, with Bro. Larry Dickens of the Church of Christ of Shiloh officiating. Visitation will be at the Groesbeck Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 P.M. prior to the services on Tuesday. Gloria was born September 27, 1930 to Dudley Bryant Sr. and Evelyn Martha (Wissel) Bryant in Houston. The family moved to Port Neches, and she graduated from Nederland High School. She attended two years at Pensacola Junior College in Florida. She married Leonard C. Jenkins on May 5, 1949 at Nederland. Gloria lived most of her life in the Beaumont area, where she was a housewife, mother, and second mother to her grandchildren, and also worked various jobs including with the Port Neches ISD and Drakes Drive-In in Nederland. She enjoyed reading history, westerns and romance novels and especially loved to read about and watch figure skating on TV. She was a member of the Church of Christ on Dowlen Road in Beaumont, and the Church of Christ of Shiloh after moving to Groesbeck, and loved church and the Lord all her life. Gloria moved to Groesbeck in the middle of May 2009 to be near her grandson Darrell. She had been a resident at Windsor the past year. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband (in 1975); a daughter, Evelyn Wilson; and brothers, Dudley Bryant, Jr. and Arthur R. Bryant. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Darrell Foret, Sr. of Beaumont; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Joe Lisenby of Port Neches; sister-in-law, Juanita Bryant of Nederland; four grandchildren:Wendy Michelle Foret Brooks and husband Paul of Beaumont, Darrell Foret, Jr. of Mexia, Shannah Louise LeDee of Houston, and Christopher Thomas Wilson of Houston; and two great grandchildren, Koby Michael Brooks and Kaleb Wayne Brooks of Beaumont.
