Steven Wayne Thompson died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. He was 41. Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Fort Parker Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be William Barton, Larry Thompson, Jr., Austin Hullet, Austin Webster, John Webster, Jr., and Bradley Thompson, and William Hill will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Steven was born January 10, 1971, in Houston to Bill and Jeannie Thompson. The family moved to Groesbeck when he was 5 years old, and he attended school in Groesbeck. In his free time, Stevie would work on computers like his Uncle Dale. He said Dale was his hero. He also enjoyed playing computer games. One of his favorite things to do was collect coins. If you had change, you could almost guarantee Stevie was going to go through the coins, and he could instantly tell you which ones were valuable. Stevie was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Felix Thompson, Uncle Dale Edward Hauser, Maternal Grandpa August Felix Hauser, Paternal Grandpa Frank Nathan Thompson, and Grandma Annie Ruth Dyess. He is survived by his parents, Bill and Jeannie Thompson of Groesbeck; grandmother, Lilly Hauser of Houston; a brother, Terry Thompson of Rockdale; a brother, Larry Thompson of Groesbeck; a sister, Leya Hoover and her husband Hershel Hoover of Groesbeck; nephews, William Barton of Groesbeck, Bradley Thompson of Arkansas, Larry Thompson, Jr. of Groesbeck, and Austin Hullett of Groesbeck; nieces, Jeannie Hoover of Groesbeck, Samantha Thompson of Kosse, Ashley Hoover of Groesbeck, Jessica Thompson of Forest Glade; 3 great nephews, Braxton Hill, Bryson Hill, and Brady Hoover all of Groesbeck; uncle and aunts, George and Tricia Dyess of Groesbeck, Betty Hauser of Houston, and Lavern White and husband Clyde of Mississippi; and 2 cousins, Joe and Michael White, all of Mississippi.
