Larry (known as “Sleepy” to his friends, and as “Bubba” to the family) was born on April 9, 1964 to Larry Kyle Henson and Linda Sue (Welch) Henson. He grew up and attended school in Groesbeck. Larry was a lifelong self-employed carpenter, working on repairs and construction of houses, while his health permitted. He had also worked a couple of years at the Walnut- Creek Mine in Bremond. As a hobby, Larry loved building furniture out of cedar. He could see a picture of an item and cut out and make a piece that looked even better than the picture. While he was still able to work and get around on the 4-wheeler, he and his grandson enjoyed riding around and going down to the fishing tank. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. The family wants to give a special thanks to all his friends that were so caring and did so much for him when he was unable to be up and around. It will never be forgotten. Also a special thank-you and wishes for God’s blessings to Providence Hospice. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Larry Kyle Henson; his maternal grandparents, Johnnie and Lou Ellen Welch; and his paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Ovell Henson. He is survived by his mother, Linda Henson of Groesbeck; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brandie Turner and husband Richard Stanfield of Groesbeck, and Brittney Henson and George Hughes of Willis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kim and Kenny Kitchens of Groesbeck, Michelle and David Fregia of Houston, and Tisha Henson of Groesbeck; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Valerie Henson of Groesbeck; very special friends, John and Donna Nichols of Mexia; grandson, Landon Turner of Groesbeck; granddaughter, Brianna Stanfield of Groesbeck; and grandson, Danny Stroder of Willis; and several nieces and nephews.
