Oscar Clifford "Pat" Calhoun, of Splendora, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, at age 67. Graveside services will be held at Faulkenberry Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Oscar, who was actually called “Pat” by everyone,was born in Houston on March 28, 1945 to Oris and Margie (Ward) Calhoun Johnson. Pat lived with his grandparents, Oscar Ward and Cledia Ward in Groesbeck when he was young and attended elementary school in Groesbeck a few years, and later he graduated from Reagan High School in Houston. Pat was a licensed plumber, and he lived in Spring and worked in the Houston area until he was injured on the job about twenty years ago. He had lived in Splendora the last twenty years. He was a Baptist. Pat enjoyed fishing and camping in his free time and was devoted to watching Western movies. He also enjoyed visiting in Groesbeck frequently during his life. Pat was preceded in death by his mother in 1986 and by his father in 2007. He is survived by eight children and their families: son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Jennifer Calhoun of Spring; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Linda Calhoun of Conroe; daughter and son-in-law, Inez and Plas Bearden of Splendora; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Gene Hignight of Splendora; daughter, Debra Calhoun Jessa of Corsicana; son, David Carrol of Pennsylvania; daughter, Shelia Calhoun of Splendora; and son, James Calhoun of Conroe; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also has two sisters, Carolyn and Gale and nieces and nephews.
