Her family moved to Houston a few months later, where she grew up and lived most of her adult life. From her first marriage, one daughter was born. Jimmie also had many step children in her life, including one stepson, Larry Causey, who she raised from five years old until he entered the military. She worked and supported herself most of her adult life, managing a variety of businesses in Houston. At the time she retired, she was employed by PCA, a photography company, selling photographs in major department stores in Houston. Jimmie married William Archie Parks on May 24, 1982 in Seabrook. They lived in Baytown until his retirement, and they then moved to Lake Limestone in 1986. She quickly made friends in her new community, being a person who never met a stranger, and being a great hostess who loved to entertain. She was an excellent cook, who could put a large meal together effortlessly. She said to put a “frying pan in her casket.” She was also a seamstress, and a wonderful mother and grandmother to the large extended family. Her family was in fact her hobby. She and husband Archie were very rarely ever apart from each other during their thirty years of marriage. Jimmie and Archie were members of the Lake Limestone Baptist Church for the past twenty-five years. Mrs.Parks was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Calvin Carroll. She is survived by her husband, Archie Parks; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Lloyd Sandel of Houston; granddaughter, Susan Espinosa and husband Antonio of Houston; and many stepchildren; step grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Myron Ray and Ava Carroll of New Caney; and many nieces and nephews.
