Frances Wynell (Climer) Sims, of League City and formerly of Groesbeck, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Regent Care Center in League City. Visitation was Saturday, December 8, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 9, 2012,at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. J. R. Tapley officiating. Burial followed in Faulkenberry Cemetery. Pallbearers were Art Easley, Bubba Easley, Stewart Aldridge, Steve Aldridge, Mack Allen, and Larry Brown. Frances was born May 2, 1922 to James Arthur Climer and Alphus (Lawrence) Climer in Groesbeck. She married Thomas Jefferson Sims in 1940. She spent her life time as a mother and housewife, and also worked at the Red Cross in Borger, Texas. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gorman Climer; sisters, Bernice Maxwell and Geraldine Easley; and daughter, Judy Kay Collins who died in November 2003. Frances is survived by her daughter, Lin Drennan of Borger; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Oren Aldridge of League City; grandsons, Wade Dorsey of Borger, Kent Collins and wife Liz of San Antonio, Steve Aldridge of Friendswood, Stewart Aldridge of Webster, and James Aldridge of Connecticut; granddaughters, Janet Burrell and husband Wayne of Borger, Jennifer Roberson of Whitney, and Melissa Lyons of Seabrook; and seventeen great grandchildren: April Giestman, Joseph Giestman, Tanya Collins, Maycey Roberson, Kayley Roberson, Nick Aldridge, Meagan Aldridge, Joseph Lyons, Jerit Lyons, Jacob Lyons, Samantha Lyons, Shelby Aldridge, Marley Aldridge, Tyler James Talafuce, William Aldridge, Khirsten Aldridge, and Laird Aldridge; and also four great-great grandchildren.
