Lillie Carroll Foley, of the Farrar community, passed away at Providence Hospital in Waco on Friday, December 14, 2012, after a long, hard-fought battle of illness. She was 74. Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Greg Sackett officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Everett Lane Taylor, Clinton Dean Little, Keith Rand, Marty Lenoir, Bubba Copeland, and C. R. Perry. Lillie Carroll was born March 30, 1938 to Orba J. Perry, Sr. and Mildred Mae (Hunter) Perry in Houston. She grew up in Houston, and graduated from Aldine High School. After graduation, she was employed at Montgomery Wards in Houston. Lillie Carroll was united in marriage with Olan Oneal Foley, Sr. on August 28, 1959 in Houston. After living in Houston a few years, they moved to the Farrar community, where they have lived the rest of her life. Lillie Carroll worked for twenty-five years at the Mexia State School, and retired in 1997. She was an accomplished seamstress, from baby blankets to wedding dresses, and loved to crochet and to read. Her greatest joy in life was her family, but she especially enjoyed the “little ones.” She wanted to baby sit every chance she could as long as her health permitted. Lillie Carroll was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Carl Guy Perry, Samuel Newton Perry, and Charles Ray Perry. She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Oneal Foley of Farrar; son and daughter-in-law, Olan Oneal (Rocky) Foley, Jr. and Sissy of Farrar; daughter, Peggy Joy Foley of Personville; six grandchildren and their spouses: Jerry and Kris Staggs, Willie Staggs and Jenny, Little Rock Foley and Amanda, , Cassie and Stacey Egbert, Jody Gilbert, and Calvin Gilbert; ten great grandchildren: Cade Staggs, Carly Staggs, Stetson Staggs, Maddie Tharp, Kori Staggs, Kinley Staggs, Taylor Shear, Slayden Morgan, Blain Morgan, and Stacey Shane (Tripp) Egbert III. She also leaves behind two sisters, Barbara Ann Ferguson and husband Olen T. of Oklahoma City, OK, and Sharon Lavaughn Luna and husband Jimmy of Magnolia; and two brothers, Rev. Orba J. (Buddy) Perry, Jr. and wife Jane of Anderson, Indiana, and Robert James Perry and wife Misty of Spring; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
