Albert Oran Seale

September 24, 1934 — April 30, 2013

Albert Oran Seale, of Groesbeck, passed away at Providence Hospital in Waco, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at age 78. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Faulkenberry Cemetery. Albert was born September 24, 1934. He entered the U. S. Navy in 1955, and completed a twenty-year career in 1975. He travelled the world on aircraft carriers, with most of his time spent on the U.S.S. Yorktown. During one tour, he spent eleven months on the water without setting foot on land. He enjoyed his travels and time on the water, and talked of his enjoyment of the time he got to spend in Hawaii. While still in the Navy and also in his retirment, Albert used his skills to restore old cars, with the prime one being a 57 Chevy. After retiring from the Navy, Albert went to work for Eckerd Drug at the warehouse shipping dock in Garland. He met his future wife, Johnnie, who was also employed there, as was her son Donnie Lee. Albert and Johnnie Elzada Bennett were united in marriage on October 17, 1975 at the Courthouse in Groesbeck, where she had grown up. After Albert retired in 1998 from Eckerd Drug, he and Johnnie moved to Lake Limestone, and later made their home in Groesbeck. Going to flea markets and garage sales were one of their fun hobbies. Albert enjoyed the many grandchildren from he and Johnnie’s combined family (with all generations totaling over 80 in number). He loved dogs, with the current family pet being a Pom named Rusty. He especially loved to work in his yard and keep it perfectly groomed. He had finished his mowing and weed-eating on Saturday, and sat down to rest when he suffered a stroke. His family was at his side his remaining few days in Providence and when he passed away Tuesday. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gloria Marie Seale and Peggy Jo Seale. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie E. Seale of Groesbeck; daughter, Suzanna Seale of Willis; son, Albert O. Seale III and wife Brett of Yuma, Arizona; son, Michael Seale of Grover Beach, CA; step-son, Donnie Lee Ogletree of Decatur, Arkansas; step-daughter, Dorothy Blakney and husband Jessie Otis of Fort Worth; a sister, Joan Seale of Garland; and many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
