Roland Lee Glover, of Lake Limestone, passed away at his home on Friday, May 24, 2013. He was 70. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 29, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Tod Tanner of the First Baptist Church of Groesbeck officiating. Final arrangements will be scheduled later, with a memorial service to be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home in West Terre Haute, Indiana. Roland was born March 9, 1943 to Roland Glover and June Marie (Higginbotham) Glover at Taft, CA. He grew up in West Terre Haute, Indiana, and graduated from West Vigo High School,Class of 1961. He joined the U.S. Army in June 1961, serving until 1964. Roland was united in marriage with Sandra Kay Cox on August 8, 1961 at Patton United Methodist Church in Dennison, IL. He served in Korea for over a year and then the last year in the Army was spent in White Sands, NM, where he was joined by his family. After his discharge in 1964, the family moved to the Dallas area in Texas, where he attended Junior College and trade-school. He then spent most of his career in the heating and air-conditioning business, working the last twenty-two years for Lennox. He and Sandra moved to Sulphur Springs where he loved owning a ranch and raising Santa Gertrudis cattle, including show heifers for the junior divisions. They retired, and moved to Lake Limestone in 2006. Roland enjoyed being with family and friends, including his little dog, Maggie May, and enjoyed watching RFD TV and NASCAR racing, and relaxing and fishing on the dock. Roland was preceded in death by his father, Roland Glover; his mother, June Goodwin; grandparents, Arthur and Sarah Higginbotham; and his step-father, Charles Goodwin. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Glover of Thornton (Lake Limestone); his daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Eric Hensley of Crowley and Lisa and Chris Dreiling of Carrollton; eight grandchildren: Sarah McBroom of Thornton, Cheyenne Dreiling, U.S. Navy, Great Lake, IL, Geneva Vitales of Crowley, Daniel Vitales of Crowley, Sarah Hensley of Keene, Travis Hensley, USAF, Great Falls, MT, Emma Hensley of Crowley, and Abby Hensley of Crowley; great granddaughter, Bralee White of Thornton; and a brother, Charles A. Goodwin of Springhill, Fl.
