David Lynn Wilson, of Groesbeck, passed away at Groesbeck LTC on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at age 71. A private family Memorial Service will be held later at Fort Parker Memorial Park. David was born at Groesbeck on April 27, 1942 to Vergil Vencin Wilson and Illa (Murphy) Wilson. He grew up in Garland and graduated from Garland High School in 1960. David operated Wilson’s Grocery in Groesbeck with his father, and after his father passed away he continued the business, adding a tire shop. After closing the business, he went to work for Matagorda County at Bay City, where he enjoyed living at the coast and fishing. After health problems, David lived with his sister Shirley, until moving into Groesbeck LTC over a year ago. David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Ann Killingsworth of Groesbeck; nephew, Keith Eaves and Candy Miller of Groesbeck; niece and her husband, Misty and Sheriff Dingler of Groesbeck; great niece and her husband, Cassi and Russell Henderson of Mexia; great niece, Sherimi Dingler of Groesbeck; great-great nieces Jaci Henderson of Mexia, Shayli Aparicio and Jailyn Aparicio of Groesbeck, and great-great nephew, Case Henderson of Mexia; Connie Eaves of Lake Limestone; one uncle and many cousins and extended family.
