Raymond Lewis Wietzikoski, of Groesbeck, passed away at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco on Friday, June 21, 2013, at age 80. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Richard Williams, Father Benji Magnage, and Rev. Fred Sain officiating. Burial will follow in Faulkenberry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Bienski, Donald Bienski, Anthony Wietzikoski, Eric Wietzikoski, Richard Wietzikoski, Craig Champion, and Russell Black. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Don Koenig, and John Martin. Raymond was born December 7, 1932 to Marion Wietzikoski and Mary (Kubiak) Wietzikoski in Marlin, where he grew up and attended school. He was confirmed in the Catholic Church in Marlin. Raymond was united in marriage with Barbara Jordan on April 19, 1951, and they made their home in Groesbeck the rest of their lives. In Groesbeck, Raymond first leased the Phillips 66 Station through 1976, when he bought the Texaco Station and Wrecker Service. Through the years he made improvements and built a new station at the corner of Highways 14 and 164, now known as Raymond’s Shell. He also was a farmer and rancher and enjoyed his time spent with his cattle after the station closed and on the weekends. He enjoyed trips to Shreveport with family and friends, and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Barbara in 2007. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Karen Wietzikoski of Groesbeck and Mike and Ginger Wietzikoski of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Jordan Wietzikoski of Groesbeck, Anjela Wietzikoski of Groesbeck, Kyle Wietzikoski of Bryan, Jace Wietzikoski of Chicago, IL., and Chris Wietzikoski of Thornton; six great grandchildren; his sister, Christine Bienski of Bryan, and his brother, Daniel Wietzikoski of Thornton.
