Morris Kennedy Hanna, Jr.

Morris Kennedy Hanna, Jr., 71, of Lake Dallas, died September 1, 2013, at Vista Ridge Nursing Home in Lewisville, Texas. Graveside services were held Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 1:00 P.M., at Faulkenberry Cemetery, with Dr. Tod Tanner of the First Baptist Church of Groesbeck officiating. He was laid to rest beside his parents. Morris “Buddie” Hanna was born September 11, 1942 in Overton, Rusk County, Texas to Morris and Virginia Hanna of Groesbeck. He was a security officer in Dallas until his retirement in 2004. He enjoyed traveling and collecting old movies, with a collection of over five hundred. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Virginia Hanna, and his uncle, James “Jim” Merryman of Groesbeck. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Hanna of Kemp; Walter Hanna of Irving; and sister, Peggy Hanna Akins of Gainesville; aunt, Dolly Merryman of Groesbeck; nephew, Stacy McWhorter of Groesbeck; life-time friend, Paul Haw of Kaufman; close friend, Shirley McManus of Vista Ridge Nursing Home; and various other relatives.
