Dolores was born November 20, 1938 in Limestone County to Oscar L. Henderson and Edith (Yarbrough) Henderson. She grew up in the Old Union community and attended school in Thornton and Groesbeck. She graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1956 as the Salutatorian of her class. Dolores was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jerry Don Perry, on June 15, 1956 at the Groesbeck Church of Christ. They made their home in Georgetown until moving to Austin in 1965. She retired on April 1, 2003 from the Texas Workforce Commission as a data processing supervisor, where she had worked 37 years in processing quarterly wage reports. She was well respected by employers across the state for her depth of knowledge and willingness to help in the processing of their documents as the technologies changed in transmitting the information. Dolores enjoyed her life to the fullest. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. Brought up in a large family, she valued family the most, and it brought her great delight to use her culinary skills to orchestrate family meals and gatherings. Dolores and Jerry were faithful in attending the annual Yarbrough, Perry, and Henderson family reunions and would return to their childhood community for many community events. They enjoyed vacationing in Estes Park, Colorado. Bluegrass music and hymnals brought her great joy. Even in her last days, she had a song in her heart and happiness in her feet. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bobby and his wife Elsie, brother Don M. and his wife Lois, brother James (Pete), brother Joe Max, and brother Rex Henderson; and her husband, Jerry Don in February 2013.
