Marshall Ray Thurman, 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 8, 2014. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and family. Visitation services will be held at Groesbeck Funeral Home Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 12,2014, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Randy Ayres of the Word of Life Family Worship Center officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Troy Dyer, Nick Martinez, Emilo Trevino, Heli Trevino III, Michael Trevino, Tyler Sunday, and Joshua Thurman. Stanley Gibson, who was his caregiver at home, will be an honorary pallbearer. Marshall Ray was born in Houston, Texas to Marshall John and Ocie Ray Thurman. He worked for Ford Motor Co. for thirty-five years before retiring. Marshall Ray and wife, Consuelo, moved to Groesbeck, Texas in 1986 and founded Fairlane Farms where he raised Red Angus cattle. Marshall Ray is preceded in death by his first wife Emily Thurman, children Mary Frances Thurman-Peters and Carlos Trevino, grandchildren Mindy Trevino and Christopher Thurman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Consuelo Thurman; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Welda Thurman; children: Marina Trevino, Heli Trevino and wife Gemma, Vincent Thurman and wife Kathleen, Edward Thurman, Alfred Trevino, Dennis Thurman and wife Mary, Paul Trevino and wife Donna, Christina Thurman and husband Leo, Marshall John Thurman and wife Benita, Valentina Sunday and husband Cody; 30 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
