Glenn Randall Henderson passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at home in Cherokee, Texas, at the age of 83. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Old Union Church; burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Glenn was born January 26, 1931 to Oscar Lee Henderson and Mary Edith (Yarbrough) Henderson at Old Union, where he grew up and attended school. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, during the Korean conflict. He was united in marriage with Rachel Juanita Thetford in the community of Horn Hill, near Groesbeck, in 1955. This union was blessed with two sons, Randy Wayne Henderson and Stevie Dale Henderson. Glenn was a long time resident of Rockdale, Texas. He was among the first to be employed by Alcoa when they opened the gates of their Rockdale plant in the early 1950’s. A great supporter of team sports, Glenn coached many Little League teams, served as board president of the Rockdale Little League Association, and attended countless sporting events in support of his grandchildren. Glenn was a hard working cattleman. He enjoyed his work in cattle and hay operations at his Lee County ranch. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings: Bobby Lee Henderson, Donald Morris Henderson, Delores Henderson Perry, James “Pete” Henderson, Joe Max Henderson, and Rex Allen Henderson. He is survived by his sons Randy Henderson of Cherokee and Stevie Henderson and wife Olivia of Lexington; grandchildren Tina Henderson Woodward and husband Andy of Lexington, Laci Henderson Rasberry and husband Jayce of Cameron, Justin Henderson and wife Lauren of Georgetown, Zachary Doonan and wife Ashley of Bryan, and Dana Doonan of Bryan; great-grandchildren Margaret, Louise and Charlotte Woodward of Lexington, Brayden and Railyn Youree of Cameron, and Jaiden Doonan of Bryan.
