Elmer Eugene Coon

Elmer Eugene "Bud" Coon, of Groesbeck, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Windsor Healthcare Residence, at age 77. Viewing will be held Saturday, October 4, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Coon was born March 3, 1931 at Bradford, Pennsylvania, to Earl Coon and Myrtle Rose (White) Coon, who preceded him in death. He married Betty Noble on October 1, 1977 in Houston, Texas. He served in the United States Air Force, and was retired from a career as a land surveyor. He loved spending his free time fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Coon, formerly of Jewett, had been residents at Windsor Healthcare Residence for the past few months. Mr. Coon is survived by his wife, Betty, of Groesbeck; three daughters, Kayla Truitt and husband Ed of Pinehurst, Karen Davenport and husband David of Plantersville, and Barbara McCarty and husband Danny of Austin; and two sons, Michael Coon and Pamela Kimmey of Magnolia, and Elmer Eugene Coon II and wife, Kim of Magnolia; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
