Barry Glenn Johnson

Barry Glenn Johnson, of Thornton, passed away at Providence Hospital in Waco on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Barry was born April 2, 1969, and had his 46th. birthday this month. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Richard Williams of the Church of Christ of Groesbeck officiating. Barry graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1987. He had attended classes in air conditioning work at TSTC and lived in Waco many years, working in maintenance for apartments in Waco. He moved back to Thornton the last few years. Barry really loved NASCAR. He enjoyed attending the races in person or watching on TV. He was also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Barry was a member of the Church of Christ of Groesbeck. Barry is survived by his mother, Sue Bates Johnson of Thornton; his uncle and aunt, Rand and Linda Bates of Groesbeck; cousins, Sonya and Mike German, and Jake German and Chad German; cousins, Ronnie and Sandra Bates, and Dustin, Kassie, and Coby; aunt, Sandra Parker of Mexia; a special friend, Sandra, in Tennesse; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Helen Bates.
