Hattie Webb

Hattie Webb, of Groesbeck, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Groesbeck LTC Nursing and Rehab Center, at age 88. Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Services for Mrs. Webb will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Gaylan Henry and Reverend Hal Stuckey officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Prairie Cemetery. Hattie was born December 1, 1920 to Trantt and Maude Mae (Acuff ) Abbott at Waco, Texas. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Demetrie Abbott from age 3. She was married to Clifton Webb, and was a beautician in her own beauty shop in Groesbeck for many years. She was a member of the Lost Prairie Baptist Church. Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, her husband, a son, Johnny Webb, and brother, Leonard Weldon Abbott. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Webb of Groesbeck; granddaughter, Leslie Browning of Groesbeck; great-grandson, Christopher Brock of Groesbeck; sister, Trannie Trotter of Mexia; brother-in-law, Condell Webb of Groesbeck, and several nieces and nephews.
