Elaine E. Kennedy, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Woodside Hospice in Largo, Florida, at age 65. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Big Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Ken Lane of the First Presbyterian Church of Mexia officiating. Elaine was born on February 19, 1944, to Lewis D. Kennedy and Opal (Miller) Kennedy at San Angelo, Texas. Although the family moved several times while she was growing up, she graduated from Tivy High School in Kerrville and attended Texas A&I at Kingsville for one year. She went to work in the airline industry, and was a long-time employee, recently retired from Continental Airlines at Houston. She enjoyed acting, and participated in summer theater, as well as acted in one movie and several commercials. She loved traveling and had travelled all over the world. After retiring she moved to Costa Rica for one year, and ultimately retired in Clearwater, Florida. In addition to her love of travel, she loved trivia and playing Jeopardy. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Keith Kennedy, also passed away in January 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Kennedy and son-in-law, Paul Polito of Clearwater, Florida; one brother, Michael Kennedy of San Antonio; three sisters, Patty Hayes of Castle Rock, CO, Martha Cloy of Brownwood, and Jane Gentz of Vidor; and also many nieces and nephews.
