Pedro Cordova, of Coit, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2009, from an accident in Robertson County, at age 55. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Juan Viaz, Reverend Benito Pantoja and Reverend Hillario Villarreal officiating. Burial will follow at Kosse City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Joe Cordova, Steve (Joker) Valadez. Jimmy Stanford, Pascual Contreras, Javier Barraza, and Bill Knight. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dora Beck, Emma Cordova, Sophia Cordova, Norma Cordova. Pedro was born September 8, 1953, to Manuel L. and Guadalupe (Davila) Cordova at Thornton. He started school at Kosse, however the Kosse school eventually consolidated with Groesbeck. He pursued a career in the trucking industry, which he continued all his life. When not trucking, his favorite pastimes were fishing, and spending time with family and friends. In fact, he was always the center of attention at family gatherings, and he loved it. Pedro was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a sister, Lupe Salas and husband Ricardo of Kosse; a brother, Manuel Cordova, Jr. of Coit; sister, Eva Cordova of Coit; sister, Rosalinda McCarver and husband John of Kosse; and sister, Eloisa Mushinski and husband Ernest of Bremond. Also surviving are two nieces, Anna Smith and husband Carlos of Waco, and Sylvia McCarver of Kosse; a nephew, Austin McCarver of Kosse; and great nephews, Brent Smith and Bryce Smith of Waco.
