Johnnie Louise Wilson

Johnnie Wilson of Groesbeck, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Groesbeck LTC at age 85. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Faulkenberry Cemetery with Reverend Ron Bellomy officiating. Mrs. Wilson was born January 1, 1924 in Yoakum, Texas to Jeptha Vernon Tucker and Lora Kelly Tucker. Two children were born into this family; LaVerne Tucker and Johnnie Tucker. The family moved to Houston, Texas when the two girls were small. Johnnie attended Catholic Schools in Houston. She married Wayland Wilson on July 18, 1948 at Corpus Christi. No children were born to this union. She helped raise several nieces and nephews including Micaela Gallagher, daughter of Donna Stevens and Randy Coalston son of Donna Wilson Coalston. Johnnie retired from Mexia State School; worked some as a beautician and owned her own shop at one time. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Groesbeck and Groesbeck Chapter #810 Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Matron several times. She was Past President of Waco Assembly #10 Social Order of Beaucants . Members are wives of Knight Templar Masons. She attended several local clubs. She is survived by her husband Wayland Wilson; niece Mrs. Jimmy (Rhonda) Bass of Groesbeck and nephew Vernon Ray Vallee of Austin.
