Ronny Darryl Spivey of Buffalo, Texas, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Groesbeck LTC Nursing Home. Visitation will be Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Mexia City Cemetery, with Brother Glenn Easterly of the Old Union Church of Christ, officiating. Ronny was born December 26, 1941 to Olan Woodrow Wilson Spivey and Ruby Jewel (McGlaun) Spivey in Kilgore where he grew up. He also attended Kilgore schools. Ronny was self-employed as an auto mechanic. During his lifetime, he was an outdoors man, loving to fish and hunt whenever he could. Being an auto mechanic, Ronny loved old cars and tinkering with them. When his son, Ronny Jr. was sixteen years old, he and his son built his son’s first truck. Ronny always cared about his family. He would go to his Dad’s house every Sunday for a visit. And his whole life revolved around his grandchildren whom he dearly loved. Ronny was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Billy Spivey. He is survived by his father, Olan Spivey of Buffalo; a sister, Sandra Land of Buffalo; a sister, Patsy Wood of Longview; a brother, Mike Spivey of Parks, Arizona; a son, Ronny Spivey Jr., and his wife Tina Spivey of Groesbeck; a granddaughter, Bailey Spivey of Groesbeck and a grandson, Bradey Spivey of Groesbeck.
