Joe was born May 21, 1930 to Wilson Alonzo Durham and Mattie Willingham Durham at Dallas, and soon the family moved to the farm at Ben Hur. When he was three years old, he was chopping cotton, and he worked on the farm until he was grown. They made many new friends there, and Joe fished on his days off. They retired after 3 years and moved back to northeast Texas, then moved to Corsicana in 2010, where they enjoyed living close to grandchildren. They also enjoyed getting together once a month with Joe’s family and playing 42. Joe was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church.
