Gordon Stuart Miller, age 83, of Groesbeck (Lake Limestone), Texas, passed away November 28, 2016 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest in Waco. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rita Sims of the First United Methodist Church of Kosse will officiate. Gordon was born 1933 in Campaign, TN where he grew up. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1962. While stationed at Ellington Air Force Base, he met and married Vida Marie Mooney in 1955. They were married for 59 years until her passing in 2014. Gordon was employed by NASA from 1962-1973 & 1979-1988 at NASA/Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas and retired with 31 years of combined Federal Service. After retirement from the U.S. Government in 1988, he continued his employment at NASA/JSC with Johnson Engineering from 1988-1997, before retiring. Gordon lived 45 years in Pasadena, Texas, raising his family with Vida before they built their retirement home on Lake Limestone in 2000. Gordon was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his time on Lake Limestone fishing with Vida, family, and friends. Gordon will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Gordon is preceded in death by his wife, Vida Marie Miller and his son, Gordon Miller Jr. (survived by wife, Alice). Gordon is survived by his son, Steven Miller (wife, Debra), of Alvin, Texas; daughter, Stephanie Miller, of Groesbeck, Texas; and son, Scott Miller, of Pearland, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren Tim, Zak and wife Tabatha, Lindsay, Lacy and husband Gareth, Justin and Garrett, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
