Margery Sue Sherrod

Margery Sue Sherrod, of rural Groesbeck, passed away at Baylor Scott and White (Hillcrest) Hospital in Waco on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at age 78. There will be visitation at Groesbeck Funeral Home on Saturday, June 3, 2017, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Graveside services will be held at Old Union Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 3, with Billy Ridge officiating. Margery was born December 30, 1938 at Groesbeck to Charlie Alex Sherrod and Ellen Estelene (Henderson) Sherrod. After retiring from a career in Houston and moving back to be near her mother, she spent much of her time in researching family genealogy. Margery was preceeded in death by her twin sister, Margarete Lou and her parents. She is survived by her sister, Nelwin Smidt of Houston and nephew, Zachary Smidt of Houston, and many cousins and other relatives.
