Mark was born April 1, 1955 in Falfurrias, TX. to Morris and Juanita Bourgeois. He went to school in Premont, TX. After school, he moved to Groesbeck to start his career, and met Tammie Renea Little. Mark and Tammie were married on June 28, 1980 in Sour Lake, TX. Mark was taught the trade of plumbing by his uncle, Marion Dick, and went on to work as a plumber for 25+ years. Mark later worked for Southern Wild Game, buying wild hogs and trapping them in his spare time. His son Casey, who has been working with his Dad, will continue the business in his father’s honor. Mark enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother and sons. He enjoyed barbequeing with his wife and three children, and no one ever went hungry around Mark Bourgeois. Mark valued his time spent with family and called his mother every night at 9:30 to check on her. He loved his grandchildren and had special nicknames for them, "knucklehead", “jackrabbit”, “fatboy”, “beaner”, and “boy”. He was a giving person and a man of his word. He was generous and quick to help those in need. If Mark said he was going to do something, he did it. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Morris Joseph Bourgeois, Jr., and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Tammie Renea Bourgeois of Blue Ridge; his mother, Gloria Juanita Bourgeois Herford of Sour Lake; his brother, Danny Bourgeois and wife Brenda of Lumberton; daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Rusty Getz of Groesbeck; son, Joe Bourgeois and his fiancée, Crystal Tull of Thornton; son and daughter-in-law, David Casey and Samantha Bourgeois of Kosse; grandchildren: Jordyn, Hadyn, Austin, Tyler, Trevor, Brayden, Tucker, and Emery; aunt and uncle, Elanor and Edgar Williamson of Austin; niece, Rachiel Renea Little and her son Caden Gray of Groesbeck; and many more loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
