Gayla Jean Teel

Gayla Jean (Lowe) Teel, of Groesbeck, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009, at age 61, following an extended illness. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 5, 2009, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Faulkenberry Cemetery. Gayla was born on October 22, 1947, to Jess K. (Bud) Lowe and Lorene (McKnight) Lowe in Mart, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Groesbeck, where she lived and worked most of her life. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter. Gayla was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Stacy Laningham Acosta and her husband of San Antonio; her son, Kyle Teel of Groesbeck; her granddaughter, Katy Acosta of San Antonio; her brother, Buddy Lowe and his wife, Patsy of Teague; niece Sheryl Dunn and husband Steve of Teague; and great nephew Clint Dunn of Teague. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
