Robert L. Boyd,a former resident of Groesbeck for twelve years, was born in Gulf, Texas, on May 16, 1929, and passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the St. Francis Village Protestant Chapel with Rev. Ken Parlin officiating. The family would like to acknowledge the exemplary care he received the past few years at the James L. West Alzheimer Center in Fort Worth. If you would like to honor his memory, a donation to them in Bob’s memory would be appreciated. Bob grew up in Baytown, Texas, where he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 until 1956 where he was assigned to Germany for several years. Prior to his retirement, he was a landman for several oil companies in Houston. While living in Groesbeck, Bob was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Mexia. Bob lived his faith by serving others, often in simple, quiet gestures of love that sought no recognition. He is survived by his sister, Jerrie Webb; nieces, Karen Berryhill and Judy Keith; nephew, Rick Berryhill. He will also be missed by several cousins and many friends at the St. Francis Village where he lived for several years.
