Robert (Bob) Harvey Hiser of Donie passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Waco. A memorial service honoring Bob’s life will be held on January 7, 2018, at 2pm in Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Tracy Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the summer months in Riverton, Wyoming. Bob was born August 21, 1946 in Douglas, Wyoming to Frank and Charlotte (Rawlings) Hiser. He grew up in Lander, Wyoming. On December 23, 1970, Bob married Shirley Moorman. After almost 18 years of marriage, their daughter Melissa was born. Bob began his oil field career with Mitchell Energy in 1979. He moved from Wyoming to Colorado, Louisiana, and Texas, finally settling in Groesbeck in 1997. In 2002, Bob retired from Mitchell Energy, however continued working for various oil field companies in the area, until retiring from the oil field in 2009. In 2010, he began to work as a Security Officer for the Kosse coalmine, until retiring in October 2014. After the passing of his wife on February 9, 2015, he began taking care of his grandson Trysten. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting with friends, sightseeing, fishing, telling jokes and most of all, playing and spoiling Trysten. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 44 years, Shirley Hiser; sisters, Eileen Plumb and Edna Jarrig; sister-in-laws Betty Moorman and Barbara Moorman; brother-in-laws George Sandler, Randy Fowler and Ken Plumb and beloved nephew, Shawn Moorman. Bob is survived by his daughter, Melissa Wren and husband William of Donie; sons Robert Hiser of Thermopolis, Wyoming and William Hiser and wife Dana of Lander, Wyoming; brother Frank Hiser and wife Judy McGinnis of Bremerton, Washington; sisters Charlotte Hallam and husband Phillip of Hudson Wyoming, Joann Fowler of Edgewood, Washington and Margaret Smith and husband Chris of Hudson, Wyoming; brother-in-laws Terry Moorman and wife Danette or Mountainburg, Arkansas and Duane Moorman and wife Kathy of Riverton, Wyoming; sister-in-laws Barbara Moorman of Yakima, Washington and Susan Montz and husband George of Riverton, Wyoming; his son-in-laws family, who graciously welcomed him as part of their family: George Botello and wife Lisa of Robbins, Rachel Relles and husband Max of Normangee, Dora Seelye and husband Jim of Normangee, Ida Rankin and husband Chris of Normangee and Joseph Wren and wife Jodi of Madisonville; grandchildren, Justine Kummer, Cortney Mole, Christian Hiser, Bryce Hiser and Trysten Wren; 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Groesbeck Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairfield Nursing and Rehab, Providence Hospital, Virginia’s Hospice, Jordan Health Care and Limestone Medical Center for the loving care they provided to him over the past 5 months.
