James Richard Baldwin (Jimmy) was born on August 12, 1970, in Corsicana, Texas to James Earl Baldwin and the late Cecilia Anne Baldwin. He departed this life on January 4, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 7-9 PM at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 2 PM in the Limestone County Fairgrounds rodeo arena with Rev. Steve Nance officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Dowell, Brant Ward, Ben Baldwin, Terry Cotton, Todd Neyland and Collen Robertson. Honorary pallbearers are, John Downing, Robert Profili, James Wayne Halford, James Robison, Chunky Busby, Jerod Duffield, John Isbell, David Riddle, Justin Pickett, Tommy Oakes, Jake Cherry, Danny Sherrod, Brian Leathers, Cole Sealy, Clyde Ridge, Todd Pruett and Pete Sims. His life Celebration began at Groesbeck Elementary. He transferred to Leon ISD in 5th grade and graduated from Leon High School in 1988. He then attended Navarro College. After his educational years, Jimmy began his working career at Brazos River Authority at Lake Limestone right after High School and continued to work there for 18 years. At this time, he also begins to develop his passion for raising cattle and team roping. He was united in marriage to his best friend and love Lori Jean Green of Fairfield. They were married on June 21, 1997. Shortly thereafter, their two greatest accomplishments arrived, being their sons Ty Baldwin born February 7, 2000 and Trace Baldwin born October 2, 2002. Jimmy loved his life with his beautiful wife of 20 years and cherished every moment with his sons, doing what they all loved daily, the cowboy way. Jimmy was very passionate about helping his boys and all their friends teaching them to ride and rope. Jimmy served as a director for Texas Jr. High Texas Rodeo Association, and is currently a Director of the Texas High School Rodeo Association. Over the last 12 years, Jimmy has enjoyed his career with XTO Energy, and his time off with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Cecilia Anne Baldwin, his paternal grandparents Mack & Estelle Baldwin, maternal grandparents Cecil & Ethel Dugan, and his mother-n-law Glenna Green. His life and sweet memories are left to be cherished by his wife Lori, their boys Ty & Trace, his father James Baldwin and wife, Nancy, his sister Kristi Baldwin Watson, niece and nephew, Emily Watson and Kade Watson; step-sister, Mollie Montgomery and husband Jimmy and step-brother, Kirby Montgomery and wife Jolene; uncle, Rick Baldwin and wife Pam; cousins, Ben Baldwin and wife Kendall, Michelle King and husband Andy and Coy Baldwin and wife Kristina as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Jimmy attended The Church of Christ as a child, and later gave his life to Christ as a member of the First United Methodist Church of Groesbeck. Jimmy has touched the lives of many and will be forever missed.
