Jewel A. Hildebrandt, who had lived in Kosse since 1983, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at age 90. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery (1719 Meyer Rd.) Spring, TX. Chaplain Jon Honea of the Limestone Medical Center will officiate at the Cemetery. Jewel was born March 4, 1927 in Baytown to William and Ella Bode. The family moved to Westfield while she was a child. Jewel was united in marriage with D. A. Hildebrandt on September 20, 1944 in Westfield, a marriage of 62 years at the time of his death. She worked in a meat processing plant in Spring that she and D.A. owned for more than twenty years. When they retired, they moved outside Kosse and raised cattle. She was a help to her husband and she was a very selfless person, putting everybody else first, whether her family or anyone else. Jewel liked to cook and had many good recipes. Her son J. A. and grandson Dave were very special to her; in fact she lived for them. Jewel was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Marlin. Mrs. Hildebrandt was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Roy Bode; daughter, Yvonne Hildebrandt; and husband, D. A. Hildebrandt. She is survived by her son, J. A. Hildebrandt; grandson and wife, Dave and Heather Hildebrandt; and two great grandchildren, Aden and Zoe. The family wishes to thank the staff at Groesbeck LTC and LMC for the care they gave Mrs. Hildebrandt. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery fund for anyone wishing to make donations.
