Juanita Fern Smith

Juanita Fern Smith, of Groesbeck, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Windsor Healthcare Residence, where she had been residing the past ten days, following illness for the past few months. Mrs. Smith was 88. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Faulkenberry Cemetery, with Reverend Ron Bellomy,of the First United Methodist Church of Groesbeck, officiating. Mrs. Smith was born on December 20, 1920 to Elwood and Gladys Gore in Hobart, Oklahoma. She grew up in Pasadena, and moved to Groesbeck in 1968. She was united in marriage with Robert Smith in 1965. In Groesbeck, she worked many years providing health care to patients in their home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Groesbeck. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Smith; a brother, A. M. Gore; and a sister, Ruth West. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy L. Nichols and Virginia King; a sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Leo Brown of Pasadena; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many friends. She will be missed by all.
