Ruth Juanita Oswalt, of Groesbeck, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck, at age 96. Services will be held at 2:00 P. M. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Troy Brooks and Brother Richard Williams officiating. Burial will be at Fort Parker Cemetery. Juanita was born August 18, 1913 to T. W. McCauley and Ella (Bates) McCauley at Groesbeck, where she lived all her life. She was married to Clofus Oswalt on November 4, 1933. They owned and operated Oswalt Lumber Yard in Groesbeck for many years. She was a well-known member of the community, efficient business woman, served as a “Pink Lady” volunteer many years at the Groesbeck Hospital, and was a wonderful cook. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Groesbeck. Mrs. Oswalt was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. McCauley; her husband, Clofus Oswalt in March 1993; and two brothers, Russell McCauley and Rowden McCauley. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and long-time employee and family friend, Sylvio Turrubiarte of Groesbeck.
