Blanchard "Doc" LeNoir

Dr. Blanchard “Doc” LeNoir, of Groesbeck, passed away suddenly from complications of pneumonia, on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Providence Hospital in Waco, at age 75. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 12, 2010, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Church of Christ in Groesbeck, with Brother Richard Williams and Brother Charles Daily officiating. Burial will follow at Criswell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Allen, Brady Allen, Michael Arnold, Coleman Harding, Kevin Stone, and Blair LeNoir. Honorary Pallbearers will be A&M Alumni and Ron Parker. Blanchard was born on June 5, 1934, to Blanchard “Skinny” LeNoir and Verna (Bench) LeNoir at Marlin, where he grew up and attended school. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Then he entered Texas A&M University, where he graduated in the Class of 1955 with a Masters degree in Education and a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He was a high school counselor at Cleveland, Texas while he was working on his PhD. Doc was united in marriage with Martha Stone on June 1, 1967 at College Station. They lived in College Station, where he taught with the Texas A&M system, until they moved to Lancaster. He retired as a Professor after teaching 35 years at Abilene Christian College at Garland and Dallas County Community College. During the time he taught, he also owned his own real estate business in Lancaster, “Doc” Blanchard Realty. Doc and Martha moved to Groesbeck after he sold his real estate business and retired from teaching. However, Doc was not content with being “retired,” so he started a new career with Texas Department of Transportation in Waco where he was still working. Doc was more than just an avid Aggie Fan; “his blood ran maroon and white.” He loved Aggie football games, the bonfires, and just being on the University grounds. Doc was a member of the Church of Christ, and was a devoted Bible Scholar. He was active for some years in the Prison Ministry in Lancaster and in Groesbeck, and taught Sunday School class in Lancaster and in Groesbeck on a continual basis. Doc was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Martha LeNoir of Groesbeck; daughter, Anita Arnold of Mart; daughter, Laurye Allen of Groesbeck; son, Tony LeNoir of West; seven grandchildren, Kristie Harding of Grapeland, Michael Arnold and wife Celeste of Houston, Brady Allen of Flower Mound, Brandon Allen and wife Meagan of Austin, Brittanye Allen of Groesbeck, Brooke Allen of Groesbeck, and Zane LeNoir of West; five great grandchildren, Mayce Allen, Coleman Harding, Kaylee Harding, Alex Arnold, and Elias Rios; and a brother, Don LeNoir and wife Joanne of Plano.
