Maria L. Saldana

Maria Saldana of Thornton passed away Friday March 5, 2010 at Limestone Medical Center. A rosary will be recited 7:00 PM on Monday March 8, 2010 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be accepting friends and visitors at the funeral home prior to the rosary and briefly afterwards as well. Catholic Funeral Mass Celebration will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday March 9, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mexia with Father Benji officiating. Burial will follow in Kosse City Cemetery. Maria was born September 28, 1955 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Eusebio and Senobea Alvarado. On January 4, 1976 she married Alfredo Saldana and began their life together. Maria always had a smile on her face. She showed kindness to everyone. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend to many and grandmother. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Maria is survived by her loving husband, Alfredo Saldana of Thornton; parents, Eusebio and Senobia Alvarado; sons, Alfredo Saldana, Jr. of Dawson, Edwardo Saldana of Dawson, Jose Saldana of Killeen, Sergio Saldana of Thornton, Jesus Saldana of Thornton, Manuel Saldana of Thornton; daughters, Guadalupe Saldana of Bellmead and Laura Saldana of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Keri Saldana, Monica Saldana, Alfredo Saldana, III, Maunel Saldana, Chris Saldana, Diana Saldana, Jennifer Saldana, Jayden Ryan Jefferson (Tomas), Natalie Saldana, Leila Saldana, Jessica Saldana, Payton Saldana, Isabella Saldana, Laylani Saldana, Julian, Saldana and Martiza Lizeth Saldana; brothers and sisters, Carmen Alvarado, Joaquin Alvarado, Amado Alvarado, Virgilia Alvarado, Virginia Alvarado, Dionicio Alvarado, Elizabeth Alvarado, Miguel Alvarado and Elia Alvarado.
