Debra “Debbey” Joy Pagel, of Groesbeck, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. She was 49. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Word of Life Church in Groesbeck, with Pastor Randy Ayres officiating. Pallbearers will be sons Derek Pringle, Payden Pringle, Patrick Gibson, and life-long friends Ricky Wright, David Flowers, and John Webster. Brothers-in-law and nephews will be honorary pallbearers. Debbey was born September 10, 1960 to Leonard O. Sullivan and Floy Anna Nicholson Sullivan in Spencer, Iowa. She grew up in Kosse and graduated from school at Groesbeck. Debbey married Marty Pringle on May 15, 1980. They lived in Kosse and Groesbeck and had three children. Marty preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Anna Penny; a brother, John Sullivan; a brother-in-law, Macon Phillips; a niece, Amy Penny, and her father-in-law, Leroy Pagel. Debbey was united in marriage with Rodd Pagel on January 8, 2010 at the Word of Life Church in Groesbeck, and they made their home in Groesbeck combining her children and his children into one family. They had a unique wedding, at 11:30 P.M. at night, due to the unexpected funeral of his father earlier that day. Debbey was a housewife and mother and a wonderful friend to all. She was a hardworker and loved to clean; she was a motivator in many ways to those who knew her. She was Grammy, spending time daily with her grandchildren, always teaching them. Debbey was a prayer warrior for all in need, and a giving person. She was exceedingly generous to anyone she thought needed prayers or anything else she could give. She was a member of the Word of Life Church in Groesbeck. She is survived by her husband, Rodd Pagel of Groesbeck; son, Derek Pringle and wife Nicole of Groesbeck; daughter, Devon Galvan of Groesbeck; son, Payden Pringle of Groesbeck; sons, Sean Pagel of Sante Fe, and Ty Pagel and Beau Pagel of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Ethan Galvan, Jake Pringle, Gracie Galvan, Tyson Pringle, and Hannah Galvan, all of Groesbeck; brother-in-law, James Penny of Groesbeck; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and John King of Belfalls, Sherry and Danny Baker of Groesbeck, and Jo and Randy Roach of Groesbeck; and mother-in-law, Maurine Pagel of Sante Fe.
