Bobbie Jean King, of Groesbeck, passed away at Groesbeck LTC on Friday, December 6, 2024, at age 82.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the Thornton Cemetery.
Bobbie Jean was born September 29, 1942, to Lonnie Adolph Holle and Ida Agnes (Dietiker) Holle in Mart. She grew up in the Otto community, and graduated from Mart High School.
Bobby Jean was married to Rawles King, Jr. on December 1, 1983. She loved dancing, and they could dance the night away, whether polka or jitterbug, or whatever the music called for. Bobbie Jean was well known for her lively laugh and fun-loving personality.
Bobby Jean worked for the City of Groesbeck as a billing clerk for 27 years and operator for 8 years, retiring after 35 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Thornton, and a member of the Groesbeck Study Club. She enjoyed working as a volunteer at Limestone Medical Center and operating the hospital gift shop for many years. She loved garage sales, traveling, cruises, gambling, shopping, and going to sports events with her grandchildren.
Once her grandchildren were born, they were the light of her life. She was known as “Bru” to not only Kailey and Colton but to their friends as well. Bobbie Jean was especially thrilled to hold her new great granddaughter, Sawyer, who was born this September, calling her “my baby.”
Bobbie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Holle; son, Bradley James Swick; brother, Jimmy Dale Holle; nephew, Chris Holle; stepson, Keith King; husband, Rawles King, Jr.; and her sister, Sherry Kroll.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Lisa Swick of Groesbeck; daughter-in-law, Susan Swick of Groesbeck; granddaughter, Kailey Isbell and her husband Zack of Groesbeck and their new baby, Sawyer Isbell; grandson, Colton Swick; stepdaughter, Kristi Young and her husband Robert. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marilyn Holle of Otto; brother, Lonnie Dean Holle of Riesel; and sister-in-law and her husband, Tonnette and Wiley Stem of Waco; as well as many other extended family.
